Equestrian vaulting, or simply vaulting, is most often described as gymnastics and dance on horseback, which can be practiced both competitively or non-competitively. Vaulting has a history as an equestrian act at circuses, but its origins stretch back at least two-thousand years.
I believe learning about other disciplines helps us appreciate the true talents of equines.
I am excited that we have a young vaulter coming to Pine Lake Pastures with a vaulting barrel to give us some beginner "how to" on vaulting. If the interest is high- we will continue to do more clinics on this balance and trust oriented discipline.
How could we use vaulting without the end goal of competition? I believe we can use the vaulting barrel as a tool for balance, strength and trust. I also see some team building via trust exercises during our camp season. We may even extend these clinics to be practiced on a safe horse.
If you are interested in our vaulting clinic (it may be at the farm as early as Nov 7th!) Please text me! 651-245-6900
